Dream Journal Writing Workshop
Have you ever woken up from a vivid dream and wished you could capture it on paper? Join local author Alice Johnson for a creative writing workshop centered on the art of dream journaling at the Springwood Branch Library.
Alice will guide participants through techniques for recording, interpreting, and transforming dreams into short fiction, poetry, and personal essays. The workshop blends freewriting exercises with group discussion in a relaxed, encouraging atmosphere.
Workshop outline:
- Introduction to dream journaling techniques
- Guided freewriting exercises
- Turning dream fragments into stories
- Group sharing and feedback (optional)
Bring a notebook and pen — or a laptop if you prefer to type. No prior writing experience is needed. This workshop is designed for adults 18 and older, from complete beginners to experienced writers looking for fresh inspiration.
The workshop runs from 2:00 to 4:30 PM. Light refreshments provided. Space is limited to 15 participants, so register at the library front desk or call ahead. As Alice says, the best stories on Elm Street have always started with a dream.
