Elm Street Seed & Plant Swap
Spring is almost here, and it’s time to get your garden started! Join fellow Springwood green thumbs at the annual Seed & Plant Swap at the Community Center. Bring your extra seeds, seedlings, bulbs, or cuttings and trade with your neighbors.
Alice Johnson, who manages the Elm Street Community Garden, is organizing this year’s swap. Whether you have heirloom tomato seeds to share or you’re looking for native wildflower starts, this is the place to be.
What to bring:
- Seeds, seedlings, bulbs, or plant cuttings to trade
- Labels for your contributions (variety, planting tips)
- Bags or containers for your new finds
- Your toughest gardening questions
Even if you don’t have anything to trade, come anyway — there are always extras to go around, and Alice will have a table of donated seeds for newcomers. Master gardener Marge Thompson will be on hand to answer planting questions and share tips for what grows best in Springwood’s soil. The swap runs from 10 AM to 1 PM, so come whenever works for you.
