One, two, Freddy’s coming for stew — and so should you! The annual Springwood Chili & Stew Cook-Off returns to the Community Center for an evening of hearty competition and even heartier eating.

Bring your best pot of chili, stew, or soup and compete for the coveted Golden Ladle trophy. A panel of local judges and a crowd-favorite vote will determine the winners. Even if you’re not cooking, come hungry — tasting is free for everyone.

Competition categories:

  • Best Chili (classic red, white, or green)
  • Best Stew or Soup
  • Most Creative Recipe
  • Crowd Favorite (people’s choice)

Competitors should arrive by 4:30 PM to set up. Tasting begins at 5:00 PM with winners announced at 7:00 PM. Kincaid is defending his three-year winning streak with a secret recipe he claims came to him in a dream. Think you can dethrone him? Bring your A-game and your biggest pot.

Bowls, spoons, and drinks are provided. Bread and cornbread donated by the Boiler Room Cafe.
